MATT PATTON, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS | mattpatton@sodelconcepts.com
Matt grew up in Columbia, SC and attended the University of Florida where he received his BA in Business Administration. As a child Matt was always interested in cooking and at the age of 14 he became employed as a dishwasher in one of the then few fine dining restaurants in Columbia. At 15 he moved on to take a position in the kitchen as a line cook. While in college, Matt began to work in the front of the house, first as a server, and later as a bar tender.
After college Matt was interested in pursuing a career in restaurant management, but without any managerial experience, options were limited. He took a job with a national restaurant franchise in Atlanta and worked his way up to store general manager in 8 months. He moved to Baltimore to further his career as a corporate restaurant manager.
In early 2013 Matt was hired by SoDel Concepts as the general manager of Catch 54 in Fenwick Island. Later in the year, along with Matt Haley and Scott Kammerer, he started Matt’s Homemade Sodas, a line of chef inspired home crafted sodas.
In 2015 Matt was promoted to Director of Operations, overseeing the day to day operations of three SoDel Concepts’ restaurants. In the following three years Matt would oversee the build out and opening of three new SoDel Concepts’ restaurants, Matt’s Fish Camp in Lewes, Bluecoast Seafood Grill and Raw Bar in Rehoboth Beach, and Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach. He now is the Director of Operations for the two new Rehoboth restaurants which are on track to be the highest grossing restaurants in the company’s portfolio.
Matt lives in Rehoboth Beach with his wife Krissy Patton who is an elementary school teacher.
